Carbamazepine
[CAS Number 298-46-4] Carbamazepine is a tricyclic compound and mood-stabilizing drug with anticonvulsant and analgesic properties. Sold under brand names such as Carbatrol, Carbamaze, and Biston, Carbamazepine is used predominately in treating epilepsy and neuropathic pain. However, Carbamazepine can also be used to treat schizophrenia in conjunction with other medicines and bipolar disorder as a second-line agent.
